"Mature" student for post inferior?

I've been out of school for 7 years (I did graduate high school), and haven't done any post inferior education. Do I count as a "mature" student, and how does that affect applying for post secondary schools? I'm awaiting a response from the university, but thought I'd see if anyone had any advice on here.
