**Question:**find the equation of a line containing the given point and having the given slope

(x,y) = (4,9). when x = 4, y = 9

y = mx + b

y = (5/8)x + b

substitute x = 4 and y = 9 to find b...

9 = (5/8)(4) + b

9 = 5/2 + b

b = 13/2

ANSWER... y = (5/8)x + 13/2

y=(5/8)x + (13/2)
