Length of rectangle is 5 unit longer that it's span. The border is 74cm what is the length and thickness?

x + 5 = the length of the rectangle

x + x + x + 5 + x + 5 = 74

4x +10 = 74

4x = 64

x = 64 / 4

x = 16

SO the extent is 16, and the length is 16 + 5 which is 21.

74=2(5+w) + 2w
24=10+2w+2w
14=4w
