Pete says "i subscribe to the Umberto Eco view that Noel Gallagher is a poet and Liam's a town crier"
now i understand what that means, but what does Umberto Eco have to do with it?
i know he's an italian philosopher but did he say that ?^^^
please can someone explain the joke?!!
Answers:
It doesn't seem to be a joke. The speaker agrees with Eco that Liam is not a real poet, while Gallagher is. He's basically quoting his source, as you would do if you were writing a paper. If Pete were writing this, he would say, "Umberto Eco believes that 'Noel Gallagher is a poet and Liam's a town crier.' I subscribe to this view."
Clueless.
Ok, first you have to log in, then do a search on the subject. It worked for me.
I didn't get it either.
It wouldn't work for me; gave me a message of "The url contained a malformed video id."
