"America believes surrounded by training average proffeser earn more money contained by a year than an athlete earn contained by a week?"?

What does this quote mean? From Evan Esar 1983. Please help i dont understand it.
Answers:
I deem you have the quote a little messed up, but the point he was trying to label is that he believes it is odd that America says it believes in childhood, but it takes a teacher a whole year to earn what a professional athlete earn in one week.

Of course, he is comparing apples and oranges to try and make his point. It is a ridiculous comparison that people try and trade name all the time.
1) it's professor
