ACT vs. SAT?

Question:I got a 29 on my ACT but i wanna go to a school on the west coast, should i take the SAT also or not?

Answers:
A 29 is a great score on the ACT. Congrats!

I would recommend researching all the schools that you are interested in or are thinking about applying to and see what their requirements are. Most colleges accept both the SAT and the ACT.

Also, it might not hurt to take the ACT again and see if you can do better. The first time I took the ACT, I got a 28. Then, I looked at what areas I could improve and studied really hard. The second time I took it, I got a 30.

Keep in mind that the SAT is based more on vocabulary, while the ACT covers more stuff that you learned in school. You need to decide what your strengths are and determine which test you might be more successful with.

If you do decide to retake the ACT or to take the SAT, go to http://www.sparknotes.com. They have their books online for free and free practice tests. Good luck!
u can try, you may do better on the SAT. but colleges accept either ACT or SAT. so, it can be a good idea to take the SAT too.
Well, it really doesn't matter. Which school in the west are you looking at? CHECK THEIR WEBSITES! 98% of schools accept BOTH the SAT and the ACT. In fact, many places that accept both require SAT II tests with the SAT, but NOT if you submit your ACT score.

So just check the colleges' websites - they will tell you everything you need to know. If you can't find the information, e-mail them or call. They are always helpful.

Btw, good job on the ACT. :) 29 is very good.
