What is the difference between happy and smile?

Answers:
The word 'happy' is an adjective while the word 'smile' is a verb or noun. 'Happy' is an emotion, while 'smile' is an action.

Being happy is an emotional or affective state that is characterized by feelings of enjoyment and satisfaction. It is universally pursued throughout the entire world, both by animals and human beings.

The word 'happy' cannot be objectively measured. It means to be delighted, pleased or glad over some particular thing(s) or in general.

Most people believe that smiling denotes happiness. However, this is not necessarily true. It can be a sign of contempt, anxiety, fear and even submission.

In physiology, a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can be also around the eyes. For humans, however, it's customarily an expression of pleasure, happiness, or amusement, but can also be a grimace.

There are two main types of smiles. The "Duchenne smile", considered a genuine smile; and the "Pan American smile", considered a fake smile.

So essentially, the difference is that 'happy' means pleasure, contentment, or joy, while 'smile' is a facial expression indicating pleasure, favor, or amusement, but sometimes derision or scorn, characterized by an upturning of the corners of the mouth.
