How can I work in online libraries?

Question:When I enter an online library I got confused so much that I can't find anything. My English is not so well but I can manage. You know, I jump from the name of the author to the name of their work repeatedly and at the end I can't find the things I need. Is there any way to become familiar with the way they work?
