What are GPA or AP classes ?

Answers:
GPA is grade point average. In the U.S. students are graded on a five point scale from A-F where an A is worth 4 points and an F is worth 0. There is no "E" grade. The closer the GPA is to 4.0. the higher the average of the grades you received in each class is. When a student is "Four Oh", he or she has never recieved a grade lower than an "A".

AP is advanced placement. AP courses are college level classes that are offered to high school students. Some colleges allow these classes to be used for credit towards a college degree. In some grading systems, an AP course is worth more points...5 points for an A, 4 points for a B...but still 0 points for an F. In those systems it is possible to have a GPA over 4.0.
GPA stands for Grade Point Average. For example, if you get an A in one class, you get 4 points. 3 points for a B, etc. If you had two A's and two B's, you will have a grade point average of 3.50.
An AP class means Advanced Preperation Class. These are more advanced classes to help you "prepare" for college or the next level.
AP is advanced placement (or preparation?). I took a couple AP classes in HS that were much harder than regular courses (and I took the AP test) and because of that, I was able to get free transfer credits in college. It saved me about $3,000 so it was worth it.
