What is call Center ?

All call center is a dedicated department where customers of a service provider (like a bank) can call in to relay their queries. Let's take the simple example of a bank. The bank's call center has a number which is communicated to the customers when the apply for any service from the bank. If you need to find out e.g your outstanding balance on the credit card you can simply call the number and usually an automated answering service will provide you with detailed options to find out what you want or you will be connected to a "call center agent" who will then answer your queries. Usually most call centers are a 24 hour service.
The 911 operators are also part of a call center.
I think this will give a good idea of what a call center is.
