I'd say two close friends one week in is doing pretty darn ably, especially if you've had to push yourself to go out there and find them. It'll win easier once you're settled in and have people you see regularly contained by classes. As for clubs, isn't there anything that interests you just enough that you might want to explore it? At worst, you spend a couple of hours at a school assembly before deciding it's not for you - and maybe you'll connect near some other folks who feel the same way.
